Bio

Reimund is an Assistant Project Scientist affiliated with the department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis. He earned a PhD in Physics in Siegen, Germany, and has been working at the EXPLORER Molecular Imaging Center, UC Davis, since 2021. With many years of experience in single photon detection and gamma-ray imaging for medical applications, Reimund is skilled in ASIC-based signal readout and processing. Specializing in PET imaging over the past four years, his work has focused on image reconstruction, data corrections, normalization as well as Monte Carlo-simulations. Currently, Reimund is exploring innovative scanner geometries, affordable imaging solutions, and advanced methods for assessing image quality.
