Reimund is an Assistant Project Scientist affiliated with the departments of Biomedical Engineering and Radiology at UC Davis. He earned a PhD in Physics in Siegen, Germany, and has been working at the EXPLORER Molecular Imaging Center, UC Davis, since 2021. Specializing in PET imaging over the past 5+ years, his work has focused on image reconstruction, data corrections, normalization as well as Monte Carlo-simulations. Currently, Reimund is exploring innovative scanner geometries, affordable imaging solutions, and advanced methods for assessing image quality. The latest research interest revolves around the evaluation of AI-based PET image enhancement methods and their impact on vital image quality metrics like lesion detectability, contrast, and tracer uptake.
