May 2026 - Simon Cherry leads opening ceremony at SNMMI 2026

Our own Prof. Simon Cherry will lead the opening ceremony at the SNMMI meeting 2026. Simon will present exciting news in the field in his 15-min keynote lecture right before moderating an engaging panel discussion on Nuclear Medicine Access and Equity, joined by six representatives from both research and industry. One of the panelists will be our colleague Brad Schmidt, CEO of the Northern California PET imaging center, who we share our building with.

The schedule also contains an exciting discussion with the British Nuclear Medicine Society (BNMS) President Sabina Dizdarevic MD, PhD, who will afterwards present latest research and development from the BNMS in a highlight country video. The program highlights of this year’s SNMMI meeting will then be presented by Steve Cho, MD, Chair of Nuclear Medicine at MD Anderson. Finally, after some closing remarks by Simon, the attendees will proceed to the opening ceremony with the industry exhibitors for some light dinner and refreshments.

This year the society of nuclear medicine and medical imaging (SNMMI) holds their annual gathering in Los Angeles. According to the event website, "the 2026 SNMMI Annual Meeting will feature groundbreaking research and clinical innovation”. The goal is again to unite physicians, technologists, pharmacists, laboratory professionals, scientists, and industry to demonstrate latest developments that help pave the way towards better patient care.
