- Tracer Kinetic Modeling
Xiaoyu Duan is a Ph.D. student working under the guidance of Drs. Guobao Wang and Ramsey Badawi. She earned her M.S. in Software Engineering from Northeastern University in July 2019 and began her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Davis in September 2022, where she is currently continuing her studies. Early in her Ph.D. program, Xiaoyu joined the EXPLORER Molecular Imaging Center. Her research primarily focuses on developing tracer kinetic modeling and optimizing scan durations for the liver to improve diagnose accuracy for Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) in patients with Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD).
In her spare time, she enjoys photography, hiking, drawing, and stand-up paddle boarding.
