Ekaterina is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis. She earned bachelor’s degree in applied physics from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2017, and master’s degree in translational medicine from UC Berkeley and UCSF in 2018. Before joining UC Davis in 2021, Katya worked at Varian Medical Systems as a regulatory affairs specialist. At UC Davis, she is advised by Drs. Simon Cherry and Jinyi Qi. Her research focuses on the development of tools for high-resolution neuroimaging with PET, including a novel painting phantom approach and accessory panels for the NeuroEXPLORER dedicated brain scanner that allow to boost the sensitivity and spatial resolution for detailed study of brain cortex.
