Visiting Student

David is a fourth-year student at UC Davis pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. His interest in medical imaging and radiology allowed him to join the EXPLORER Molecular Imaging Center in June 2025, where he is supervised by Dr. Reimund Bayerlein. His research focuses on applying a 3D Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Model (3D DDPM), a trained deep learning model that predicts and reconstructs a low-noise image from higher-noise data. He uses this model and its outputs to conduct quantitative analyses of lesion detectability and accuracy.
